My name is Isabelle Newman. I was diagnosed with dyslexia when I was 15 years old. Once dyslexia was identified, I could begin retraining myself. Before this time, I thought that I was stupid and unable to keep up with with classmates.
Reading is important in education and life. People with dyslexia don’t know that they are looking at words differently. They become disinterested in school and reading a book is no pleasure. Getting diagnosed early is extremely important. The earlier a child can begin understanding his challenge, the sooner he can begin to improve his reading ability.
My goal is to help people get educated about dyslexia and the options available.
